Pigeon Peas
The pigeon pea is a perennial legume from the family Fabaceae. Since its domestication in South Asia at least 3,500 years ago, its seeds have become a common food grain in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. We procure Pigeon Peas from Malawi, East Africa on a seasonal basis. It will be containing almost 15% moisture. We have professional workers and our own yards in Malawi and Beira, where the quality is taken into consideration from the beginning stage itself.
Pigeon pea is one of the most important legumes grown in semi-arid tropical regions and young seeds are consumed fresh as a vegetable or can be allowed to mature before drying and eating as a pulse. The seed pods are also edible and are eaten as a vegetable. The leaves and seed husks of the plant can be used as an animal feed.
Soya Beans
The soybean, soy bean, or soya bean (Glycine max) is a species of legume native to East Asia, widely grown for its edible bean, which has numerous uses. We procure the same on a seasonal basis from Beira or Malawi.
Soybeans and soy foods may reduce the risk of a range of health problems, including cardiovascular disease, stroke, coronary heart disease (CHD), and some cancers as well as improving bone health. Soy is a high-quality protein – one or two daily serves of soy products can be beneficial to our health.
